Well I had never been to “Colorful Colorado” before this trip, but it exceeded it’s name. We drove from Colorado Springs, up Pikes Peak, and then south towards Telluride and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Before we crossed into Arizona we explored Mesa Verde National Park and hit as many service roads as we could. Aspen trees, baby foxes, a new mountain in every direction – I am so amazed that this place is on the same piece of land Chicago is. I put them in the blog post in the wrong order and they’re staying that way, it is what it is.
